Knowing the value of his host's time, Jasper rose to his feet when Tomoe swept an arm towards the hallway. He nodded in agreement, briefly glancing to his right side to ensure his weapon was still present.

"Indeed, Professor. I hope that I haven't been too great a burden to you.. or to Anya."

The self-styled treasure hunter allowed himself to be escorted along without much incident, making small talk with his gracious host about the upcoming drive that lay in Jasper's near future. He was expecting about three days of travel near some dangerous highways; what was left of Australia's highway authorities were underfunded and stretched thin.

Luna

"Thank you Doctor Clarke. Thank you so much. I'll try not to be a bother or a distraction I promise. I really do appreciate it."

The very second Clarke finished his sentence, that young feminine voice spoke up again- the very same one that had startled her so just moments ago. Luna didn't quite understand; hadn't she managed to scare her off? When was this visitor supposed to arrive? Had she been so lost in her own mind that she had missed something?

The echoes of the broadcast continued, with now a female voice accompanying Buren; surely trying to help whatever schemes he was planing come into fruition. That was the downside to being blind, Luna had learned. Her other instincts had become almost catlike to make up for the loss of vision. She was attuned to any change in her environment-especially noise. This change in the broadcast, unfortunately for her, didn't go unnoticed; and continued to make Luna anxious before the doctor spoke, putting a gentle hand on her shoulder as he did so.

"This young lady is Ami Mizuno, the daughter of a very well known doctor. She's quite intelligent for her age, and has been helping us out with odds and ends for quite some time. She's here to observe your condition as it improves. Is that all right?"

*Ami*

Ami stepped forward when the Doctor mentioned her and bowed then said, "Hello, I have been as Doctor Clarke said helping with things and am very smart., but Dr. you don't need to say that.." She looked at Luna and waited for a response from either her or Dr. Clarke. "Have you heard the recent radio broadcast from the President and his first lady?" Those two..Ami really didn't like mentioning them or even thinking about them, she hoped that if there was a conversation about it that it would be brief and they could turn to something she cared about...doctor things.

The doctor nodded briefly, then pointed to the radio. "The radio stations that are still working have done nothing but replay and debate the address, since it's the biggest news we've had in years."

He looked over Luna's body on the table, then scratched his head and looked at Ami with a shrug of his shoulders. "I can switch off the radio if either of you are uncomfortable, but it won't change the things to come."

President Buren attempted to push the subject of his address forward, attempting to relegate the stern tone of Selena's authoritarian announcement to a simple background reminder. By talking so extensively of their plans, their grand design for the future that did not involve an Earth frozen in petrifying crystal.

The older, wisened statesman adjusted his microphone. "It is important for us to seek out the source of the blight. From the guiding hands of the First Lady, we have discovered ways to halt and regress the crystal growth that persists throughout the world."

Wilson leaned over his desk, grasping the worn wooden ends until his knuckles turned white. "To that end, I will seek authorization from Congress to organize an expedition to our allies in Darwin, Australia. Their incidents of Fracturing were of similar scope to our own, yet their land mass is smaller. Losing the continent would be a tragic disaster, especially one that we have the means to prevent!"

*Ami*

'Well at least he said he would shut off the radio, then i can focus on Luna easier now' "Could you please turn it off? If it will just repeat then was use would it be to hear it over and over if it never changes." She then looked Luna over and then looked for Dr. Clarke's notes on their patient. "How are you feeling now Luna? I would like to know if you need anything right now or if we need to. As she waited Ami was looking for signs that might tell her more about Luna and her condition.

Luna
Luna flinched slightly at the girl addressing her, for she had been too focused on the radio broadcast. Once he started talking about halting crystal growth, her heart began to race even faster. She tried talking herself down from the brink of panic-especially since she had no idea why this made her so anxious-before nodding in the doctor's direction.

"Yes." Luna gulped her panic down, taking the doctor's offer to turn it off. "Please." She added.

Then the girl asked how she was doing. What was she supposed to say? That she began to jump and panic for reasons she didn't know? About her visions and nightmares? That would scare her away for sure!

"Nothing in particular." Luna's throat felt dry, so she cleared it.

She wasn't lying about her physical ailments, at least.
