History:
Ami grew up with her mother, her father having left before she was born. Her mother loved to tell her the story of how they met. She had been working at the hospital she had done her internship at, them having hired her on. Her mother had been quite the innovator when she was younger. She had been assisting on a surgery that had suddenly gone wrong. Seeing a way to fix it when the lead doctor had given up on the patient. She ignored him yelling at her, his threats to call security, knowing that she could save him. Her reputation in the hospital soon grew as she began pioneering other methods.
 
One day, her father, who had been making a delivery to the hospital, had overheard some of the nurses’ talk about a surgical technique her mother was to perform that day. Interested, he had managed to sneak into the viewing room and watch. Entranced and impressed by her abilities, he kept finding excuses to come by the hospital. Eventually, he asked her out, and the rest is history.
 
Her mother never really talked about her father, or why he wasn’t there. Ami often suspected her mother was trying to hide something about the situation, but never pressed the issue. As her mother was a very successful doctor, she wasn’t often home, leaving Ami to grow up and raise herself. She didn’t mind, she knew what her mother was doing and knew that her mother often felt guilty that she was unable to spend as much time with her daughter as she would like. Ami has always been smart, and loved to learn. This set her apart from her peers, isolating her growing up. She didn’t really mind though, finding solace in her books.

RP Sample:
Ami regarded the package that innocently sat on the kitchen table critically. It was the same one that came every few months, wrapped in the same brown paper, tied with a string. There was never any return address on it, only her name. The contents of the package were always things Ami wanted, things she never told anyone, not even her mom, or things that always came of use.  There was always a note too, handwritten with what Ami believed to be a quill and ink, on beautiful parchment paper. She had ever note that had ever been sent. She still had no clue who sent these packages, but she couldn’t help but thank her anonymous benefactor. It was time to see what she had been sent now.

 

Divine Parent’s Name: Hermes

Magical Equipment/Weapons: Magical Lyre – a small string instrument in the shape of a horse shoe that is held while being played. Ami's lyre is made of good covered in a gold lacquer. The strings are attached to a wooden bar that has been slotted over the top of the two sides, making it more sturdy. The bottom is connected to a stand which allows it to stand on its own, and not be put on its side which can damage the strings. In a lighter gold colour, it has designs of swirls and lines. 



Inherited Skills and Powers: enhanced speed, power of persuasion (able to persuade people to give up items she needs or talk them into giving her information), and lock intuition. She is skilled at learning languages, becoming fluent both orally and in writing in the language she chooses, incredibly smart and  is creative in coming up with new inventions. Playing the lyre and other string instruments is a skill that Ami has picked up over the years.  

Achilles heel (Fatal Flaw):
Hesitation: While Ami is smart, she lacks the confidence to speak up sometimes. She is terribly shy and also hesitates to attack people, not liking violence.

Achilles Heel (Fatal Flaw): Typically in mythology and in English literature, a fatal flaw is one thing that can cause the ultimate demise of a character. Could you sum up what you wrote here with one word? For example, Minako's is vanity, Rei's may be pride/stubbornness, etc.
