Plot Summary:  


Sailor Splash and her fellow Otaku friends travel to a remote cave located on an abandoned nameless island off of Japan. They are drawn to the island after hearing rumors of a spirit named Tien that was long ago trapped within the cave. What will happen once the gang finds and frees Tien? Join in and find out!


Details on any necessary information:  
Tien is a Vietnamese name meaning Spirit, Angel, and Fairy. For story purposes, she was once a Fairy that aided Senshi from decades past with her ability to concur familiars. Tien is trapped in the cave due to a dark spell that forbids her from leaving the cave. The Youma that created the spell and trapped her has since passed away with time. Once Tien is saved, she will use the last of her power to create Familiars for her saviors. The characters that participate in this storyline may then add their Familiars to their profiles for later use in other storylines and or events. Familairs will be a cross of element mixed with an animal being that can be called upon for battle/ and or kept as a helpful pet. 


This is meant to be a quick and short roleplay. The main purpose is to allow your Otaku characters toobtain familiars which may appear/be used in later storylines for your own personal entertainment  


There will be no villain fighting in this storyline.

Yumi waited on the beach for her friends to arrive. They had been curious about the rumors that were traveling through Tokyo about a recently discovered cave on a remote island. The island was easy to get to, however, and why it was never noticed before surprised Yumi. Although it was off shore, if you stepped on the walks that laid just below the water surface, you could easily walk to the island barefoot....as long as you didn't fall into the ocean.

The sun was hot, and Yumi could feel her shoulders burning.

Amina strolled down the path that lead to the beach. Yumi had contacted her and asked her to meet her here, saying something about a newly discovered cave on an island. Having the day off from teaching, and really having no other plans, she quickly agreed to meet the other woman. 

"Sure is a hot one today, isn't it?" she called out in greeting. Thankfully she had put on some sunscreen before leaving the house.

Yumi looked up at the sun, vaguely blocking it with her hand. She could barely see any clouds, and she was afraid of getting sunburned. She walked under a tree on the island that was the beginning of a small forest. The shade from the patch of greens wasn't a lot, but it blocked the sun.

"Hopefully it will be cooler down in the cave." She replied, sitting on a rock. She stretched her legs out in front of her. "I hope the others show up soon."

Meredith was still getting used to her life in Tokyo, but thanks to the help of the friends she had been making, getting accustomed to civilian life was becoming much easier. She was honored and excited when her newest friend, Yumi, mentioned a cave on a remote island and invited her to join a group that was going to check it out. Feeling lighthearted in her summer clothes, Meredith practically jogged to the beach. Close to the water, she spotted Yumi and another girl she had met a few times. Amina was her name, right? Or was it Anima...?

Biting her lip nervously, Meredith slowed her pace and approached the two girls. "Hello!" she said, smiling. "A beautiful day for an adventure, is it not?"

Yumi was now sitting on a small cliff edge when her newest friend Meredith had approached the two girls. It had been a little while since she had seen Meredith, but regardless Yumi was excited that she had come to the meetup location for the adventure.

"Ready to get going girls?" Yumi yawned, stretching her arms above her, her fingers reaching for a branch. Sadly, she was unsuccessful in grabbing the branch, and sighed.

"Very much a beautiful day!" she agreed. The woman that approached looked familiar...what was her name again...Meredith?

Amina smiled as Yumi failed to reach the branch. 

"Good try," she giggled. "I'm game to go if we're not waiting for anyone else. Where exactly was this place again? I've been hearing rumours, but nothing overtly concrete." Leaning against the rock, she kept her hands casually in her pockets, until they were ready to go. For a rock, it was pretty comfy.

Yumi laughed at Amina, at how unaware the girl was.

"The opening is right there, in plain view." Her hand pointed to the right, down a semi visible path. "Behind those trees and overgrown shrubs lies the entrance., however be careful for snakes when we go down there."

Yumi shivered. She hated the creatures. She cautiously began to walk, leading the trio.

When Yumi pointed to the semi-visible path, Amina couldn't help but blush. Alright, so she wasn't always the most attentive person, missing details on occasion, especially when she wasn't in senshi form. Paying less attention to her surroundings was probably going to get her into a lotta trouble one of these days though...

"Snakes?" she said, squeaking a bit. She hated snakes, among other things. "If we leave them alone they should leave us alone..."

Hopefully.

Meredith's eyebrows raised at the wary looks on both Yumi's and Amina's - Anima?- faces. Snakes didn't frighten her too much - of course she would prefer not to deal with them, but when push comes to shove she didn't mind them. It was bugs that terrified Meredith the most. Excited to start a new adventure, she followed behind Yumi. "Do you think there will be anything especially dangerous for us to face?"

Amina wrote:

"Snakes?" she said, squeaking a bit. She hated snakes, among other things. "If we leave them alone they should leave us alone..."

"Most of the time." Yumi grinned, teasing Amina.

Meredith wrote:

"Do you think there will be anything especially dangerous for us to face?"

Yumi held a branch out of the way that hung over the path they were walking on. When the girls passed, she let go carefully so it wouldn't crack backwards and hit anyone. 

"It's totally possible we might find something dangerous, but nothing we wouldn't be able to handle" Yumi said brazen, her mind on the legend that she had heard. "I mean powerful Youma used to roam this island."

"I wonder if any of the youma are still around, just maybe in a deep, deep sleep? There use to be stories of immoral beings or beings who are long lived, who, when tired with life, would find a place to goto sleep for years at a time. Sometimes even for a few centuries," she mused. It would be kind of cool if there were youma that were that old running around.

Yumi stopped, a shiver ran down her spine. "Well, lets hope not." She giggled, but deep down she knew Amina was probably right. it wouldn't surprise her in the least bit if they ran into something. "I just hope if you're right, we don't disturb something earth troubling."

That was the last thing they needed, another world war.

Meredith smiled, snapping her fingers as she remembered a specific tale. "I heard a story about something like that once! It was about the Phantom of the Lake, who was really a sprite who had turned into a monster because of her jealousy. She attacked the village of her origin, and was sealed into the lake by the man she loved and his significant other. Quite a sad tale, but it has a good moral. I heard a rumor that her jealous spirit was freed, but I am sure it was just a rumor. I wonder if we will have the chance to free a spirit today?"

"Trust me, there are a lot of spirits you would rather not want to run into or have any form of contact with ever," she said, snorting slightly. Amina had the ability to make contact with spirits, ghosts if you'd prefer the term, and not all of them were friendly. Some had been so warped by time or negative energies on the planet, they became horrors.

"Well lets hope we don't run into any spirits" Yumi said a bit harshly. She was afraid all of this talk would aggravate or attract something. Yumi had always believed in the power of words. The more you spoke about something was grounds for it to happen.

Yumi took the first steps into the hidden cave entrance. It was a bit steep and the stone ground was slick from past storms and the ground being unable to dry from the damp atmosphere.

Meredith nodded at Amina's comment, unsure of how exactly the blonde girl knew this fact, but believing her nonetheless. There was something about her voice that compelled Meredith to listen and to believe. Experience, perhaps? 

Following Yumi, Meredith stepped into the cave and shivered from the chilled air. Her flat shoe slid against the rock beneath her and she began to fall, just barely catching herself on the cave's wall. Heaving a sigh of relief, she glanced back and smiled nervously at her friends. "That was a close one," she quipped, trying to cover her embarrassment. She could feel her cheeks burning, but thankfully it was too dark for them to see.

The cave grew chilly as the girls walked, but then Yumi realized a very obvious problem. "So, did anyone bring any flashlights?" Unfortunately, Yumi did not. However, as if she said a magical phrase, old torches that lined the many tunnels that split from the room they were in suddenly self lit.


More tunnels that Yumi wasn't aware of soon came to life as fire lit the paths. How were they ever going to find what they came here for in this maze? How would they even find their way out?

"I have a solution for that, hold on," Amina said.  Closing her eyes, she reached out, seeking the aid of any good spirits. When one reached out, she grinned. Holding both her hands out in front of her, they began to glow. Energy swirled together, forming a small orb about the size of her hands. Dropping her hands, the orbs floated in place. 

Thank you, she said to the spirit, releasing the borrowed powers to create the orbs. 

"They're only temporary of course, they'll last about half an hour before they die, but I think it should be good enough? Oh, and they'll follow us around as we move."  The lights weren't terribly bright, but it gave off enough light for the girls to see by.

Meredith was about to ashamedly admit that she hadn't thought to bring a flashlight when a series of torches began to light themselves along the walls. The silver-haired girl froze, goosebumps lining her arms. Maybe...this wasn't such a good idea after all. She was about to voice her opinion when Amina spoke up, summoning some strange orbs. Clearly her friends were still dead set on this adventure, so Meredith wouldn't be the one to ruin the fun. After all, it wasn't often she was invited on outings like this.

"Well...we may as well try to explore as much as we can. I say we take this path," Meredith said, pointing to the right.

"Alright" Yumi replied to Meredith. Amina's glowing orbs helped greatly with not becoming lost, but they needed to hurry as well before they vanished. Who knows how long it would take to find their way out of the cave if that happened?

"Don't you feel invited, I mean torches lit for us. I feel like a spirit here wants us to find something."

Meredith bit her lip nervously, glancing at Amina to see if she had anything to say in response so Yumi's suggestion. "Well...if there are spirits guiding us..." she gulped. "I hope they are friendly."

"I don't sense anything evil in the area," Soul said. The spirits that were around were neutral, neither good nor bad. Although if provoked, they could turn ugly really quickly.

Yumi was walked with the girls down the cave tunnel, when she kicked a pebble down. It echoed down the path which sloped.

"Duck!" She yelled. Hundreds, if not thousands of bats began flying straight at them.

Amina barely ducked in time to avoid the hundreds of bats that flew by. What was with this cave? She didn't think that bats lived this far into a cave. 

"Is everyone alright?" she called out.

"I'm fine!"  Yumi shouted as she stood up. 

She didn't know why she was yelling, possibly from the sudden terror of what seemed like thousands of little winged creatures suddenly flying straight at you. She shivered at the thought. Normally she didn't mind animals, but it was the way it happened that caught her off guard. As if a possibly possessed by spirit cave wasn't enough of an adrenaline rush.

The girls walked more into the cave. After several dead ends and retracing their steps to find the correct paths, they eventually found a small alter in a room that opened from the cave tunnel. The ground and walls weren't anything fancy. A dirt ground with stone walls that had faded symbols on them, possibly painted hundreds of years ago, fading over the passing of time. 

Yumi touched one of the symbols when she noticed a book on the alter opened to a page with a few words on it. She picked up the book and looked at her two comrades and friends. Yumi suddenly felt empty, like a shell. She couldn't control her actions. She read the sentence written on the page, then passed out on the ground.

"You are a little soul carrying around a corpse."
