Yeah, I joined their facebook page because the other night I was watching the old trailer and was like "man i should follow them to see if they release a new trailer" and then...bam! New trailer! XD

The only complaint I have is lust should've been nephelina! I think chibi usas wig needs a little work, why is helios's horn a cone? :/

Seeing how this a fanflim there's probably so much they can do. However I do agree Chibiusa's wig could use some work.

I'M so excited for this film, the amazon quartet looks AMAZING!! >< One thing the bothers me though is that chibiusa sailor shoes is ugg boots....why aren't they pink lol and I don't see jupiter alot... but other then that IM excited

Anywho, I quite like the Trio and the Quartet looks, slightly edgier I think.

But the fighting scenes look awesome! No ballet fu-y at all, but actually full of action and badassery.

I have no idea where the thread is for the SMA live action movie one is but bad news for those who have seen it...there is not going to be a part 2 unless they get alot of money so they might make another donation announcement but megumi said it's pretty much on the back burner and done until they get more money that stinks Xp

Oh that's awesome! I'll have to go follow them on there. I think this will be a really neat project. Still a little silly at times, of course, but it looks like they've worked really hard on trying to make it the best possible thing they could.

I was just checking their facebook group last night and the guy says we should be seeing part 1 within the month! Part 1 of the movie is finished, he is still editing part 2. The first part in an hour and a half with the second part being an hour and like 15 minutes or something. So its a legit full length movie. I'm a little excited.

If you want to follow the group i think you just need to search "Dead Moon Circus Fan Film" or something. The head director/editor/everythingor(?) is always posting in there about the project. He seems like a pretty cool dude. They are doing everything so low budget too. Poor guy had to start a fund just so he could try to get from Australia (where he is from and where the film was made) to Canada just so he could attend one of the screenings for his film.

You can tell he is sooooo dedicated to this project and just a passionate person all around.

I honestly started laughing at it. Everyone is Asian looking and Helios comes out Caucasian. Not something I'd look into too deeply, most likely.

Well, it is still fanmade, and of course it's going to be silly and a little tacky. But! I love seeing what they can do, and how they interpret the story, and you can tell they put a lot of effort into making it, and I think that takes precedence over visual things :3

I've always been a picky person with what I like and I naturally like quality over effort. How they even managed to do all they have with such a little budget is quite an accomplishment. Anywhere I can find the videos?

They haven't uploaded part 1 yet. But there are a couple trailers which I believe were posted in this thread. IMO, I thought the quality from the trailers was pretty good considering it being a low budget, fanmade film.

(Also Helio being caucasian looking didn't really bother me anyway because he's from a different dimension so why does he have to look Asian? Also, he's most likely Australian since the entire cast is... so... i dunno, i don't think we need to bring race into this anyway. )

I was very impressed by the quality of this and am anticipating the second half! My favorite characters from this are probably Rei and Ami. Ami was so much cooler in this film than the anime. I also loved the interactions between Rei and Chad and her fight scene. I think the amazon quartet are really good. I am not very impressed with Chibiusa though because I feel like she really hasn't played much of a part in it but maybe we will the next half. I really like how they threw mako and motoki interactions in there as well. Sailor moon has yet to impress me but maybe she will the next half.

Hmm, I have my critiques and to be honest, it didn't really grasp me that much, however, I feel its still very good and enjoyable. I thought the girls having Australian accents was cute and I think despite some obvious issues that come with a low budget film, it was quite well done.

For a low budget, I thought this was really well done! I can't wait for the second part to come. It's strange how in more than a hour nothing much has been going on but it was still cute and I expect more from the second part. I hope we will see more of Sailor Moon herself though!


My concerns though are the following:

-ChibiUsa (Rini) looks almost older than Usagi (Serena) in her voice and in her face... I know in the anime this is the arc where Usagi acts the more like a baby but we still know Usagi is the ''older sister'' (Mommy in the fuure)

-Ami... I felt like she's been confused with Makoto at a certain point with the combat scenes with Tiger Eye... Nah, I didn't think that suited her character at all and I always thought Ami was the studius, shy and cute one and the way I've seen her in this made me feel like she was studius and badass... The girl still payed her role well I have nothing to say against the actress.

-Where is Venus' red bow in her hair? Minako's famous bow???

-Fisheye o_O He was sexy for me but would this Fisheye have been able to seduce Mamoru? Or any other guy I mean? Or disguise into a fairy? XD In the anime he always gave me the impression of being an androgyne (Someone with a sex female or male but who physically can't tell who they belong to depending on how they are dressed) Fisheye should have looked more feminine in my opinion.

-Oh... I know Usagi(Serena) loves food. I love the fact they wanted to represent that but... I think there would have been a cuter way to show that without burping. She could have just had hiccups or something... I thought this destroyed all the romance in that scene and it just made Mamoru look stupid by just smiling stupidly. Hiccups would have been more appropriate and Mamoru having a little laugh would have made the scene funnier and he wouldn't have looked stupid but that's just me...

What I liked:

-Rei, she was awesome and I loved her temple too! I loved her attack scene as well and her meditation in front of the fire when she got disturbed by Yurichio (Chad) asking if she wanted some tea. I love the interaction between these two as well.

-I loved the interaction between Makoto(Lita) and Motoki (Andrew). It was all pretty cute and sweet. I loved how they represented Makoto's characters that just fit so well! It was quite the way I was imagining her and her personality fits.

-Usagi(Serena) looks so cute!!! And so does Mamoru(Darien)

-I remember when Sailor Venus first appeared in the anime and the reaction of the other girls telling how beautiful she was. Then later we learned she had lived in London... The Minako in the fanmade movie looked just as this description to me. I love how they represented her and her personality as well.

-I love how they chose girls and guys from different nationalities. It is very true that everywhere in the world many different people live in the big cities and it looks just normal to me to see Minako for example live in Tokyo just as much as Motoki or Ami.

-The accent of the actors was very cute too

-The proximity between Usagi and Mamoru is something I liked seeing.

So far, I think Rini ...... ya, So many questions to emotion

I dislike the effects in the background :/ like all the blurriness for no reason.

But besides that I like it.

I agree with Saturn on the background, at first I was unsure if it was just my computer screen that was making it all blurry and it started to hurt my eyes a little.

I think Ami comes off as a little abrasive, especially in her first scene.

I really like Rei, she seems to fit just right.

Makoto, again hit the mark.

Venus, where is your bow? XD But other than that I like her.

Usagi, so far so good. I think her sweetness might be over played just a tad, I would have liked a little more serious Usagi. I do like how she is portrayed over all though.

Chibiusa, good, maybe just a bit higher of a voice to sell the role a little more.

Mamoru, do something man! It seems like he was just kind of there until his epic fight scene. I like his transformation. ^^

Amazon Quartet, love those girls.


Did anyone else have problems with the sound? For me, it seemed like some characters were extremely quiet in some scenes and others were overly loud in the same scene.

I like the changes they made to the story, nothing major but I liked them.

Overall, I think it is very well done for an independent film. Can't wait for the second half!

Yeah, I agree with points made above. I'm not a huge fan of some of the lighting and blurred effect choices. It makes it feel too fake? There were times you could tell they were having recording issues or something. I would hear background noises while one character was speaking (like background noises that don't fit in that scene...) and not that with another. I think storywise its kinda interesting, but it left me a bit bored. Maybe if it was shortened some? Its a bit too long to invest, especially when the acting at times is subpar and the story is a little slow.

I do REALLY love the actress playing Lita and Serena. I think Rei is allright, but she has too much of an uppity preppy girl attitude thats like...sorta a Rei thing (yeah she was a bit uppity), but I think it was too much? Not really sure how ot explain it. There were times she rubbed me off wrong and times I enjoyed her. Ami is meh.

Yeah I know what you mean. Like Rei has that kind of attitude in the anime but not all that much. But overall, I still could recognize the character and enjoyed her play.

Didn't finish it because I'm lazy, but what i saw (first 45 minutes) definitely nothing to complain about, they seem to know their limitations and work with it. Massive improvement on that terrible New York one from a while back. Not the most groundbreaking OMG thing ever, but definitely nothing to hate on. Quite enjoyable *nods*

I need to give this another chance. :/ The date between Usgai and Mamoru was a bit too cheesy. Plus it's doesn't help that they have Australian accents. I have nothing against the Australians, but their accents make the movie seem more cheesier. It's one of the reasons I couldn't watch that Nick show H20.
